Chelsea’s Friday is likely to be dominated by Tiemoué Bakayoko.
The AS Monaco midfielder is clearly lapping up the attention his potential transfer to Chelsea is bringing him, and encouraging more of it. He’ll hope the showing off and trolling doesn’t come back to haunt him.
After Bakayoko, the next transfer looking likeliest for Chelsea is Danilo, with Friday’s edition of Marca explaining that, whilst Real Madrid’s asking price hasn’t been met yet, the Brazilian is getting closer to Stamford Bridge.
The Spanish newspaper also have a report on Chelsea’s search for a striker, and the impact that’s likely to have on Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea ‘need to get rid of’ Costa because of his poor relationship with Antonio Conte, but Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United, the London club need a new option to bring in.
The striker question moves to the table once the immediate business, mainly Bakayoko, is out of the way, and Marca believe there’s interest in Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andrea Belotti.
There’s no break for Chelsea, once the next signing is sorted, it’s on to perhaps the hardest business of the club’s summer.
A striker in, and a striker out, two forward transfers that are going to be difficult.
