Four days ago, Chelsea confirmed Wesley Fofana has undergone surgery after suffering a serious knee injury. He’s expected to miss most of the 2023/24 season and the setback has forced the west London club to look for his replacement in the market.

On Friday, Estadio Deportivo reported the Blues have included Real Betis’ Luiz Felipe in their target list. Another name has now been added to that list.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Chelsea are in the picture to sign Juventus’ Gleison Bremer.

It’s claimed Chelsea ‘threaten’ the Brazil international’s continuity at Juventus. Fofana’s injury blow could see the Premier League side shift their focus to the 26-year-old, who joined the Serie A from Torino last summer.

Luckily for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the report says the Old Lady are willing to ‘sacrifice’ the centre-back if they receive an offer of around €50m.

Tottenham Hotspur also have the South American on their agenda but Calciomercato.it say Juve have their sights on the ‘Bremer-Chelsea track’. The report adds there could be a ‘possible surprise deal’ between the two clubs for the defender.
