It’s no surprise that Maurizio Sarri is a fan of Jorginho after having managed the midfielder at both Napoli and Chelsea.
The Italian coach is now at Juventus and wants the Blues player in Turin.
Miralem Pjanić was ‘never completely at ease’ under Sarri this season and therefore, the Serie A winners are trying to sign Jorginho, who ‘accompanied him [Sarri] and made him great in his previous adventures’.
This is according to Calciomercato and the report states the Blues value the Brazil-born Italy international at around €40m.
Juve’s idea is not to spend a lot on the 28-year-old’s signing and the Turin club are ready to offer one of their players to lower the cost of the operation.
This is where Federico Bernardeschi comes into the picture and it’s claimed his ‘candidacy is becoming more and more insistent’ for Frank Lampard’s side.
In addition to this, Chelsea, who are thinking about an exchange deal, ‘really like’ the former Fiorentina man.
Calciomercato add a ‘new summit’ between Juve chief Fabio Paratici and Chelsea officials is expected in the near future to discuss the exchange operation involving Jorginho and Bernardeschi.
With Jorginho keen on reuniting with Sarri, a deal could be concluded if Bernardeschi remains interested in joining the Premier League side.
