While the news that Jeremie Boga is on his way to Sassuolo isn’t anything new, the details of the transfer will be of interest for Chelsea fans.
The young forward has been sent all around Europe on loan over the past few years, from Spain to France to exotic Birmingham, and made just one league appearance (18 minutes) for the Blues at the age of 21.
It seemed enough was enough for the Ivory Coast international (he declared to play for them in 2017), and a permanent transfer has been sorted by Chelsea, sending him for a small fee of €4m to Italy.
However, his Stamford Bridge career might not be over yet, as Foot Mercato in France state the deal taking the 21-year-old to Sassuolo includes a buy-back clause, of which the amount has yet to filter.
The player has now arrived in Italy, and is expected to sign his contract in the next few hours.
Over the course of his loan spells, the youngster has scored six goals (two for each club) in 74 appearances.
