Chelsea are another club in the race for Corinthians youngster Wesley, according to reports.

The Blues’ interest is today revealed by Foot Mercato, who claims there are several clubs trying to sign the 19-year-old.

It’s now said that Chelsea, just like West Ham United, have already placed a bid for the winger.

The Hammers’ offer was already known, with the Brazilian media claiming that it was rejected, but this effort from the Blues seems fresh.

Now Foot Mercato brings some information that could be playing against Chelsea. The first is the interest from Ligue 1 sides in the player, with Nice being one of the clubs who are following him.

Then it’s said that the winger would like to join another league than the Premier League, as he would like to take a ‘first step’ in Europe before going to a top tier.

Chelsea already lost the race for Pedro Lima because Wolverhampton Wanderers offered him more playing time, so this could be a similar case. Maybe a loan to Strasbourg would be an argument to convince Wesley this time, in case they offer a solid development project.
