Surrounded by rumours linking him with a Premier League move, Victor Osimhen has just been quoted with an exciting message for Chelsea and Manchester United fans.
That happened in an interview he gave to John Obi Mikel’s podcast, with the story is relayed by Calcio Mercato.
Osimhen had been speaking to the former Chelsea player, who tried to attract him to Stamford Bridge.
“Next season I know you’re coming to Chelsea mate! I tell you, I will be the agent who will broker that deal. I’ll make sure it happens. We’ve been desperate for someone like you since Drogba left the club,” said Mikel.
Osimhen then admitted he has some ties with Chelsea, but said something about Manchester United as well.
“I don’t have a favourite Premier club, but I have two shirts: Chelsea and Manchester United. Many of my friends are Chelsea fans, a few are Man United fans. The Premier League is the most popular league for any African player, it’s a great league.”
In the same interview, Osimhen claimed he never thought about leaving Napoli last summer, admitting he turned down the chance to join Al-Hilal.
The rumours about a move in 2024 continue to be strong, though, with Chelsea and Manchester United often named as two strong contenders for his signing.
The striker continues to be in great form for Napoli this season, with six goals in ten appearances so far, even though a hamstring injury has sidelined him over the past few weeks.
Now we’ll see if his flirting with Chelsea and Manchester United will encourage those clubs to come in for him.
