Chelsea ‘insist’ on a deal for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer and are holding talks with the Italian side to make that happen.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say there is a negotiation in place for a deal with Chelsea players potentially going the other way.

The newspaper explains that the likes of Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah and Cesare Casadei are names that are ‘popping up’ in the talks between the two clubs.

Juventus chief Giovanni Manna has already been ‘on a mission’ to Stamford Bridge in the last few days, travelling to England to work out Chelsea’s intentions with Vlahovic and working out other possible transfer deals.

The Blues player he really likes is Casadei, recently voted best player at the Under-20 World Cup, and he has ‘taken information’ on him with an initial but firm ‘sounding out’ on the prospect of getting him.

More talks will follow in the coming weeks, but it will take some work to convince Chelsea to let Casadei go as they’d prefer to keep him and just send him out on loan for experience next season.

A loan to a top Italian club would make sense and with them continuing to ‘insist’ on a deal for Vlahovic the idea of getting Casadei as part of such a transfer has now become concrete.

Chelsea don’t want to go beyond €60m cash plus a ‘technical quid pro quo’ for the Serbian striker, or in terms non-football executives can understand, €60m plus a Chelsea player of some sort.

That is where names like Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic and Chalobah have come up, but Juventus would much rather have Casadei, particularly if they can get him on loan with an option to buy.
