Elseid Hysaj’s possible transfer to Chelsea continues to be a hot topic in the Italian media, especially after the recent quotes from the player’s agent.
This Friday, outlet Calcio Napoli 24 had a chat with RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato, and asked him about the situation.
Venerato explains that after Napoli said no to Chelsea in the summer, Hysaj is now demanding ‘important figures’ to renew his contract with the Italian club.
It’s claimed that Chelsea have tried again by calling Napoli a few days ago, and it doesn’t mean they’re in a rush for the player.
For being afraid of sanctions from the Financial Fair Play, the Blues would like to find a deal in January and get the fullback only in the summer, something which has also been mentioned by other sources in Italy.
However, Venerato claims that the ‘situation is very complex, and hard to turn concrete’. Partly because Napoli aren’t very keen on selling, and will insist on closing a new deal with the player.
But Chelsea’s name won’t stop being mentioned in the local press, and if they’re making contact again, as claimed, it would appear they’re serious.
Added to that, the player’s agent spoke about a potential Chelsea transfer this week and certainly didn’t rule it out.
