It’s always tricky writing stories like this, but here’s the gist: Luís Castro has commented that he’ll comment on the Reading rumours but not just yet.
The manager did it in his press conference ahead of Vitória Guimarães’ match against Rio Ave this weekend. Local journalists obviously quizzed him about the Championship side’s reported chase, and he’s claimed he will wait for his day off to have a say on the matter.
“My head is totally in the game against Rio Ave. All that I can say I’m only going to do it on Monday that is my day off, and it’s the day I’m totally comfortable to address any and all issues that are outside of Vitória,” Luís Castro said in a press conference.
On what people will think of that, he said: “In my life I always walked with what was my conscience, I do not walk with what others think or do not. What others thought when I was at Distrital, I did not care, what they thought when I was in the third division, I wasn’t interested at all, What other people think when I’m in the Primeira League does not interest me at all. I’m only interested in my conscience and what I do in my day to day life. I dedicate myself completely to my work and my profession.”
Most of the local outlets have claimed today that Vitória knew nothing about Reading’s interest in their boss, however, considering Castro’s quotes, it looks like the story isn’t new to him.
