Prior to the wild influx of stories claiming that Ibrahima Konaté is close to a move to Liverpool, other names were regularly linked with a transfer to Anfield.

Among those was Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who is having a good season with the Serie A side.

At the age of 24, he is the kind of target Jürgen Klopp likes to sign, with potential still there to be developed all the while having some experience behind him.

We’ve covered articles claiming the German manager first asked about the Brazilian back in 2018, while others suggested Liverpool had sent ‘requests’ to sign him, pushing with ‘some insistence’.

That’s all well and good, and the stories certainly reached Bremer himself, although he knows nothing about them or anything going on behind the scenes.

Speaking to La Repubblica, relayed by Torino Granata, he said: “Everyone talks about Liverpool, but I don’t know anything. And then, there’s an urban legend that Klopp came to compliment me. I’m fine in Turin, especially after overcoming the language barrier”.

That doesn’t sound like someone desperately trying to move to Anfield, but we’re sure that if the right offer comes along and if the Reds present him with an enticing offer, he’d probably accept.
