There’s some surprise in Spain at Valencia’s travelling squad for their match against Celtic in the Europa League this week.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are not thought to be a pushover for Valencia and the match is seen as a potential slip-up for the Spanish side. Celtic have a great deal of respect around Europe and whilst travelling to play the club in Glasgow is a highlight for many players, it’s also thought to be a difficult test.
Despite that, Valencia have chosen to rotate, as explained by their local sport newspaper Super Deporte.
They travel to the Scottish Premiership club ‘without important men’ in the selection, and the leading one among them would be Rodrigo Moreno.
The travelling Valencia squad for the Celtic match is named as:
Goalkeepers: Jaume Domènech, Neto, Cristian.
Defenders: Piccini, Diakhaby, Garay, Lato, Álex Centelles.
Midfielders: Dani Parejo, Wass, Coquelin, Kondogbia, Carlos Soler, Ferran Torres, Cheryshev, Kang In.
Forwards: Guedes, Sobrino, Kevin Gameiro.
Along with Rodrigo, Gaya and Gabriel Paulista, formerly of Arsenal, have been left in Spain.
