Aster Vranckx has return VfL Wolfsburg after making only 11 appearances during his loan spell at AC Milan last season. That hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from other clubs, including Burnley.

Towards the end of June, L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi reported the Clarets had made the first offer of €12m to sign the midfielder.

Burnley, however, are expected to miss out on the 20-year-old to PSV Eindhoven, according to Foot Mercato.

The Bundesliga side are about to sell Vranckx and his next destination is likely to be in the Netherlands. It’s claimed the Belgium international is very close to joining the Eredivisie side, who are expected to pay around €12m to secure his services.

Foot Mercato state the deal to take the player to PSV is on the right track even though Fiorentina are in the mix. As it stands, the Serie A side are lagging behind in the race.

It’s to be noted that the €12m fee PSV are expected to offer to sign Vranckx is the same, or very similar, to what Vincent Kompany’s side had reportedly proposed to Wolfsburg a month ago.
