Steven Defour made nine appearances across all competitions for Burnley last season.
Despite limited playing time [due to injuries] over the last 18 months, the 31-year-old has managed to draw attention from elsewhere.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Antwerp are in talks with the Clarets player.
Defour’s contract runs down in 2020 and it’s claimed he can leave Sean Dyche’s side for the right price.
Antwerp sporting director Luciano D’Onofrio is waiting for the ‘right moment to strike’, but is aware the player is earning a ‘generous salary’ with the Premier League side.
Over the past few months, Antwerp have made enquiries about the player’s wages and Defour is now waiting for a ‘concrete proposal’.
HLN states ‘the conversations are confirmed with Antwerp’ which presumably means there’s talks ongoing between those involves in the potential transfer.
In 2016, Burnley paid €9m to Anderlecht for Defour and are now hoping to recover part of that.
There could be progress in the coming days, if there is a formal approach from Antwerp.
