The Chilean national team are set to play two friendlies next month, and according to the local media, some of their stars will be left out of the squad.

The report is made by newspaper La Tercera, who says the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Arthuro Vidal and Gary Medel are all expected to miss the games against Argentina and Honduras.

The main reason is because these players had extended vacations after the Copa America, and will need some time to get in good shape on a club level before representing the national team again.

The outlets adds a few details about Alexis Sanchez, since his situation is seen as more complex. He’s the player who must convince his club as well.

La Tercera writes: “Alexis needs to focus fully on the Red Devils. He comes from a very low semester and he cannot lose more days away from the club. He would lose too much ground and his credit is low.”

The Chilean media’s coverage on Alexis Sanchez is always huge. This Wednesday, local websites still have his alleged fight with Mason Greenwood on their front page.

If the national team are waiting for Sanchez to succeed at Manchester United, we wonder how long that patience will last.
