Burnley’s owners are set to complete a takeover of Belgian side KVV Kortrijk soon, with transfers already under discussion.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who say the move from Burnley’s owners is ‘set to be confirmed soon’.

Kortrijk have been looking for new owners for several months, with current owner Vincent Tan keen to move them on and the fans keen for him to depart as well.

Burnley’s owners, namely US investor Maciek Kaminski, had expressed and interest and talked to Tan about a deal but those negotiations broke down when he suddenly and inexplicably increased his asking price for the club.

There have been several twists and turns on the matter since that point, with potential other buyers also pulling out following negotiations with Tan.

Reports last week then claimed Burnley’s owners had come back with an effort to get a purchase over the line and add the Belgian side to a planned network similar to that owned by the City Group.

Tavolieri now follows that up and says the Burnley owners’ takeover is ‘set to be confirmed soon’ by the relevant parties.

Indeed, the Clarets hierarchy is ‘already controlling’ at the club and that extends to transfer business, where they are seeking profiles for players to bring to the club to strengthen them.

That’s a clear indication of their confidence on the matter and that Burnley will soon have a sister club in Kaminski and co.’s portfolio.
