Nottingham Forest have been the busiest Premier League club in the summer window, with the newly promoted side almost signing a new squad’s worth of players.
They’re determined not to be relegated in their first season, having waited so long to return to the top flight.
Despite all the signings made so far, Forest continue to be linked to more players for last minute deals. One who won’t be joining is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow, according to the German newspaper Bild.
They say the Swiss midfielder has rejected a move to Steve Cooper’s side, despite the offer being very good for him and also for the Bundesliga club.
Bild quote the midfielder as saying: “I have never made a secret of the fact that the Premier League is my wish and goal. It was also hugely lucrative for Eintracht Frankfurt. But my gut feeling decided that I should stay here.”
According to the report, Nottingham Forest offered a deal which would have been worth ‘at least’ €20m for Eintracht Frankfurt, and the move was under discussion until Sow himself pulled the plug, preferring to stay where he is for a further season.
