Back in June, FcInterNews stated Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi was spotted with Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio in Milan.
Fast forward to August and TuttoMercatoWeb now state De Zerbi had asked the director about Inter’s Kristjan Asllani.
It’s claimed the Brighton manager likes the midfielder ‘a lot’ and has closely followed him in the past few years, dating back to when he was Sassuolo manager.
It won’t be easy for Brighton to take the player away from the San Siro, even though the Nerazzurri are getting closer to signing Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić. Following Marcelo Brozović’s exit, Simone Inzaghi’s side see Asllani as Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s backup.
The Albania international joined the Serie A side from Empoli for €14m last year. The report states Inter would need a ‘big offer’ to start discussions about Asllani’s potential sale, although there is no mention of how much would be needed.
TMW end their report by stating Brighton will have to be more convincing in order to sign the player desired by De Zerbi.
Asllani was handed 858 minutes of action from 29 games last season.
