On Friday, we covered a story about how Brighton & Hove Albion were insisting in their attempts to sign Boulaye Dia from Reims.

The Ligue 1 forward appears to have been highlighted by Graham Potter as an ideal option to add depth to his attack, with the player capable of playing through the middle but also on the wing.

It was said the Premier League club were working towards a loan deal for Dia, but that is where the problems in the negotiations are taking place.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who explain the French side have told them there is still no offer from Brighton for the player, valuing him at ‘around €10m’.

‘From English sources’, the newspaper also claim the Seagulls are only prepared to put forward a ‘paid loan’, which is ‘far from satisfying Reims’.

It seems Brighton will have to up their offer or change it entirely if they are to get their man before the end of the day.
