The Brazilian media now backs up claims Arsenal and Chelsea are both chasing Andreas Pereira.
UOL writes that after reading the reports from England, they’ve now managed to learn that the Blues and Gunners are indeed working to sign the 22-year-old.
It’s claimed that both clubs have already opened talks to sign the player, whose contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of the season.
UOL claims that Andreas ‘should not’ stay at Manchester United for the next season, and says that PSG are another club who are keen on him.
Considering he’s struggling to get into Jose Mourinho’s team, it’s fortunate that clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are keen.
Andreas’ intention is said to be finding a ‘long term project’. Two clubs from Spain and two ‘Italian giants’ have also made contact, but haven’t had their names revealed.
Despite Mourinho’s wish to keep the player in the squad for the season and using him in the initial games, Andreas has only five appearances since the summer, and now hasn’t played in over a month.
There’s been reports of an option to extend the player’s contract by a further year, but if that’s not in the power of the club to activate unilaterally, then Arsenal, Chelsea and the other interested sides could be looking at a free transfer.
As ever with Andreas Pereira, it’s best taking the claims with some caution.
