The Brazilian media also reports that Arsenal are in negotiations for Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz.
ESPN journalist Pedro Ivo Almeida claims that the player has been in ‘ongoing talks’ with the Gunners, and hopes the clubs can seal a deal for his move to London.
It’s claimed that Douglas Luiz ‘had contact’ with Arsenal director Edu Gaspar after Wednesday’s match at the Emirates Stadium. The two know each other from their time with the Brazilian national team.
According to ESPN Brasil, the conversation ‘pleased’ the player, who then spoke to Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard to ‘explain the situation’.
Just like previously reported by Goal Brasil, it’s now also said that the Villans ‘showed willingness’ to let Douglas Luiz leave this summer.
ESPN highlights that the transfer still depends on the final talks between Arsenal and Aston Villa officials, as there’s a very short time for it to be done before the transfer deadline.
A report from Goal Brasil this week said the Villa Park side would let Douglas Luiz move for between €12m and €15m.
