Bournemouth midfielder Emiliano Marcondes could be on his way to Hibernian, according to reports from Denmark.

Website BT writes that the 28-year-old is ‘millimetres away’ from making a move to the Scottish side.

It’s said that Marcondes is expected to visit Hibernian in the coming days, and if he ‘lives up to expectations’ there, then he’ll join them.

The midfielder would first get loaned by Bournemouth until the end of the season. His contract with the Cherries expires in the summer, so he’ll then be free to make that move permanent.

While loaned by the Premier League side, Marcondes is expected to continue having his ‘high wages’ at Hibernian, although it isn’t clear if that will be split between the clubs.

Marcondes was signed by Bournemouth on a free move from Brentford back in 2021.

In January this year, the Cherries loaned him out to Danish side Nordsjaelland, and then got him back last summer.

The midfielder didn’t get any chances to play for Bournemouth this season, though, and that’s why his summer exit isn’t exactly a surprise. Now there’s a fresh chance for him to prove himself in Scotland.
