Midfielder Jefferson Lerma will not decide his future at Bournemouth until their future in the Premier League is certain.
That’s according to Dominik Schneider, who says the midfielder has offers from Serie A, La Liga and elsewhere in the Premier League ahead of the summer.
Lerma is currently set to leave Bournemouth at the end of this season, with his contract expiring in the summer and him yet to extend his deal.
He’s been with the Cherries since 2018 after joining in a €30.5m deal from Levante that summer and been a regular since, making 179 appearances in all competitions to date.
This season has seen him continue to be a key player and he has suitors thinking about a possible move, with several reports indicating that there are clubs around Europe eyeing a potential free transfer.
Schneider confirms that the 28-year-old is yet to make a decision on his future, which is ‘still not clear’ despite his contract coming to an end.
He is not set to do so until Bournemouth are ‘sure of staying’ in the Premier League, which is looking increasingly likely after their win over Southampton, but not yet mathematically certain.
A move to the Bundesliga is also an option for him, although he is yet to receive any offers from Germany at this point.
That could always change ahead of the transfer window opening, with Lerma’s future still up in the air despite his contract situation.
