On Saturday, journalist Rudy Galetti reported Birmingham City’s Jordan James has given his approval to joining Atalanta.
Later that day, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the Serie A side will make a decisive push at start of this week for the 19-year-old’s transfer. It was also explained that the midfielder is intrigued by the idea of joining the Serie A club this month.
Tutto Atalanta state the Birmingham City player is seen as an ideal candidate to revive La Dea’s engine in the second half of the season.
Earlier this month, the Blues parted ways with Wayne Rooney after he guided them to just two wins from 15 games. They are currently 20th in the Championship table.
The report states Atalanta want to take advantage of Birmingham City’s current situation and also the Wales international’s desire to join them, to get this deal over the line.
The Italian club are optimistic of securing James’ services and – from an Italian perspective – the operation is expected to go through, unless there is a last minute surprise.
James has scored five goals from 27 games this season for Birmingham City.
