On Thursday morning, we covered a piece from Sport which said Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers are lining up a deal for a swap between Adama Traore and Francisco Trincão.

It was claimed that agent Jorge Mendes, who represents both players, has the approval from all parties and will start working for the loans to become permanent deals.

Now it turns out that in a new story from Sport, it sounds like they haven’t read their own article, because it’s now said that Wolves will trigger the buying option for Trincão.

They feature a piece with a headline highlighting the ‘big deal’ Barça managed to make when letting him go to England, as the Molineux side will spend €30m to buy him at the end of the season and the Catalan club will ‘recover’ the money invested in his signing.

Only a couple of times do Sport name Traoré, but never mentioning a swap. They say that Trincão’s permanent move to Wolves will be ‘linked’ to the Spaniard’s transfer to Barcelona, as both buying clauses have the same price.

With the two clubs wanting the same thing, there’s no doubt that Barcelona and Mendes will work the best plan for the move to look good in the Catalan side’s financial books, considering all the issues they’ve been through lately.

That could see Barcelona owing Wolves another favour, and could encourage Riqui Puig rumours.
