Tahith Chong is out of contract at Manchester United after this season.

On February 5th, Tutttosport explained Inter Milan have taken important steps to acquire the winger’s services.

FcInterNews now claims the 20-year-old has decided not to renew so that he can leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as a free agent.

The Nerazzurri, who held talks with his camp in January, are vigilant and contacts between Inter and Chong’s representative, Mohamed Sinouh, continue. The two parties are believed to be close to reaching a deal over salary.

It’s stated Chong demanded €2m net per year rising to €3m including bonuses, but Antonio Conte’s side want to offer €1.5m net plus bonuses. There’s a belief both parties can find an agreement over wages ‘halfway’.

However, there’s a ‘distance’ over agent commission, even after the Manchester United player’s representative reduced his demands from €7m to €4-4.5m. It’s claimed Inter have allocated no more €1.5-1.8m for commission.

Contacts continue between the parties and the possibility of Chong going out on loan to Jiangsu Suning hasn’t been excluded.

Meanwhile, Chong’s agent will also evaluate proposals from French, German and Spanish clubs in the coming days.

He is looking to find the best sporting and economic solution for his client and Inter remain vigilant.
