Mundo Deportivo had a big feature on Wednesday titled ‘The Hour of Decisions’.
Now Barcelona have wrapped up La Liga and celebrated it, focus turns to the summer and what changes there’s going to be at the club.
Whilst the majority of the article is about transfers, both going in and out of Barcelona, there’s a small intriguing piece on Robert Fernandez.
The club’s ‘technical secretary’ (transfer guru) has had a mixed time in his role and there’s some question marks over the future. Jordi Cruyff is one of the names to be linked with taking over from Fernandez, but the Spaniard would have to go before that were to happen.
Mundo Deportivo say Fernandez is closer to leaving than renewing right now, and with his contract ending in June it’s a question which needs answering soon.
If Barcelona do want to replace the official, or he wishes to leave, then plans need to be made soon to make sure there’s not a vacuum during the transfer window.
The Catalan media aren’t really going huge on this and it would be suspected that if a change was imminent there’d be repeated front pages for both Mundo Deportivo and Sport.
