Robin Gosens’ brilliant performance against Portugal at Euro 2020 saw the German international explode in the European rumour mill.

Barcelona were one of the clubs linked with the Atalanta player, and there were suggestions of a huge battle this summer for his signings.

Gosens couldn’t put in a similar level of performance against either Hungary or England, with Germany going out of the competition to Gareth Southgate’s side.

The rumours haven’t died, and TMW say Barcelona and Juventus have made ‘polls’ for the player. That means they’ve made contact, likely to ask the requirements to sign the fullback during the current window.

TMW report Barcelona ‘could attempt an assault’ for Gosens this summer.

However, the player’s price is put at €40m and spending that for someone in his position doesn’t really seem a priority for the Camp Nou club right now.

Their concentration will surely be on securing exits and getting the wage bill down, leaving little room to throw €40m after a new signing which they don’t desperately need.
