FC Utrecht attacker Zakaria Labyad has told the Dutch media he’s happy the club brought in Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich on loan.
Klich joined Leeds United last summer from the Dutch side, but returned to the Netherlands in January.
Speaking to Utrecht fans, Labyad was asked about Utrecht’s start to 2018, following the signing of Klich: “This is a decision that our trainer made, and I think Utrecht should be happy with Klich. He has power and creates many opportunities for us.”
The Poland international became the first signing for Leeds United’s former manager Thomas Christiansen, after agreeing to a three year deal last June.
However, Klich failed to make an impact during his six months at Leeds United, and was loaned to Utrecht to get more playing time.
The player still has ambitions to be part of Poland’s squad for this summer’s World Cup, and subsequently needed games after being snubbed whilst at Elland Road.
There have been recent reports Utrecht can make his move permanent in the summer, which would end his brief spell with Leeds United.
