Barcelona’s Denis Suarez has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the winter market.
Last week, several reports in Spain indicated the 25-year-old’s loan move to the north London club was expected to be completed, but so far no deal has taken shape.
The deal collapsed over disagreements regarding Suarez renewing his Barca contract.
Today’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport relays comments made by Cadena SER programme ‘El Larguero’ about the former Villarreal man.
It’s explained that Ernesto Valverde’s side could banish the Spaniard until the end of the season, if he does not accept their conditions for transfer this month and so far, have set three conditions.
Suarez has to join Real Betis or Seville or Arsenal. The player is not interested in the former two as the ‘attacker prefers the Premier League’ option over the other two clubs.
For the La Liga winners to sanction a loan move, Suarez needs to first extend his contract at the Camp Nou by one more season as his current deal runs out in 2020.
Should Suarez decide against accepting any of the conditions laid by Barca, then he won’t be allowed to play for the remainder of the season.
Suarez has six days to make a firm decision on his future, but his desire still remains to join Arsenal in January.
