According to Turkish media outlet Fanatik as relayed by NTV Aston Villa are showing interest in Besiktas attacking midfielder Ernest Muci ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Albania international has impressed since joining the Super Lig club during the last transfer window, which has brought him to the attention of other sides including Aston Villa.
It’s been reported Besiktas have recently received offers for Muci and this has been confirmed by their president Hasam Arat. The Besiktas chief revealed a €20m offer has come in for the playmaker, but this was rejected and he didn’t name the club involved.
“A club from Europe has made an offer of €20m for Ernest Muci. However, I rejected the offer. We want him to stay with us next season,” Arat said.
Fanatik add Muci is being pursued by numerous clubs and they report Aston Villa are one of those interested. The Premier League side will be looking to strengthen in the summer window with Champions League football more or less guaranteed for next season.
The 23-year-old was part of the Legia Warsaw side that met Villa in the Europa Conference League earlier in the season and it seems he made an impression during that meeting.
Muci has made 11 appearances and scored 2 goals since joining Besiktas in January. He’s contracted to the Istanbul club until June 2027.
