With Nicolo Zaniolo having an unimpressive season at Aston Villa, there’s been much talk about his future in the Italian media.
The player is expected to return to Galatasaray at the end of the season, and some Serie A clubs could then try to bring him back home.
TV Play today had a conversation with former footballer turned pundit Fabrizio Ravanelli, who had some comments to make about Zaniolo.
He claims that had the Aston Villa player been managed by Luciano Spaletti, his situation would be completely different now.
“Zaniolo would have become insane if he had Spalletti as a manager at a club. I like him a lot, he’ll definitely go to the European Championships,” said Ravanelli.
He added: “In that area of the pitch there are Soulé and Yildiz who, if they are allowed to make mistakes, represent the future of Juve. If I were the Bianconeri team, I’d keep them both. Selling either of them would be an incredible own goal on Juve’s part: the fans could riot. Better to sell Chiesa than these two players.”
Since joining Aston Villa at the start of the season, Zaniolo may have managed to make 31 appearances, but has struggled to find a starting place in the team.
He hasn’t started a Premier League game since December, and is often used by Unai Emery at the end of matches.
That’s why the Villans are unlikely to try a purchase, and his future in the summer should be very much open.
