For the past few days, reports coming from Spain have covered Sheffield United and Burnley interest in Espanyol’s Marc Roca.
The Spanish club, who were relegated from La Liga last season, are looking to sell the midfielder to improve their financial situation and also lower their wage bill.
Aston Villa have now joined the Blades and Sean Dyche’s side in the race for the 23-year-old in the final stretch of the transfer window.
That’s what LaGrada are reporting, and they state the Spaniard is one of the players expected to leave the club before the window closes.
With Villa, Sheffield United and Burnley all showing interest in Roca, the Premier League could be his next destination.
Espanyol haven’t had any proposal so far, but they expect to ‘receive formal offers’ from clubs who have shown interest before the end of this week. They are willing to let him leave for close to €10m, even though he has a €40m release clause.
Roca has received permission from the club to not train with the first team on Thursday in order to avoid picking up any injuries ahead of his impending exit.
LaGrada adds the Premier League trio are also joined by unnamed clubs from Italy and Germany, and a move to one of these sides cannot be ruled out.
