Aston Villa are monitoring Renato Sanches’ situation at Paris Saint-Germain, according to MilanLive.it.

AC Milan showed interest in the midfielder before he joined the Ligue 1 side from Lille last summer. The presence of his former coach, Christophe Galtier, and Luís Campos at PSG convinced him to favour them over the Serie A club.

Sanches’ decision hasn’t paid off as he’s been restricted to 746 minutes of action from 23 games this season, during which he’s managed two goals. His game time has also been restricted due to multiple injuries.

The Paris club are ‘not at all convinced’ of the investment they made to sign the Portugal international. Therefore, they are ‘ready to get rid’ of the player in the next window.

PSG want a fee close to €10m to sanction the former Bayern Munich man’s sale. Aston Villa are mentioned as they have ‘raised their antennas’ after being made aware the French club are ready to sell the 25-year-old.

Unai Emery’s side must watch out for Atlético Madrid, who are also in the mix to sign him. Milan could also conduct a survey to understand the conditions needed to carry out the deal. Their chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara like Sanches a lot.

If Milan are keen to make an approach for Sanches in the summer, they could be set for a battle with Aston Villa and Atlético.
