Mathieu Debuchy seems to have spent much of the last couple of years waiting for a transfer away from Arsenal, and that situation isn’t going to change imminently.
Seemingly on the verge of an Arsenal exit several times, Debuchy remains at the club and is looking for a way to get more football.
The Frenchman won’t give up on his World Cup dreams and if there was any chance of him getting a reasonable amount of minutes at Arsenal, then Debuchy would gladly stay where he is.
Marseille were brought back into the picture on Wednesday, and L’Equipe cover the situation in their Thursday newspaper.
Debuchy is ‘in the corner of the head’ at Marseille, and signing the Arsenal player certainly isn’t a priority, with Marseille wanting an attacker before thinking about dull things like strength at right back.
There’s been no concrete move for Debuchy yet, and L’Equipe say Marseille would only really step forward at the end of the market. Given there’s only two weeks left of the transfer window, that must mean the very end of the market.
Before swooping for the Arsenal player, Marseille would want to get other business done first, which includes signing that attacker, and selling others.
