With Dusan Vlahovic seemingly on his way to Juventus if Tuesday’s Italian media is to be believed, Arsenal will need to look elsewhere for a new striker.

One player they still have a chance of getting before the end of the transfer window, however, is Arthur, who has been the subject of talks between the Gunners and the Turin side for a while now.

The Brazilian wants the move to the Emirates, but there has yet to be an agreement between the two sides, mostly because Arsenal wanted a six-month loan, which Juventus were against.

An 18-month loan seems to be something the two parties could compromise on in a worst case scenario, and TuttoMercatoWeb have the latest on Tuesday from their end.

They state that talks to sign Arthur ‘will resume from today’, but it’s made clear the Gunners ‘must raise the offer to Juve and change the formula by giving purchase guarantees’, meaning some kind of mandatory option to buy at the end of the loan, or one triggered by set objectives.

What could help in all this is the fact Juventus are now also looking at Nahitan Nandez after Cagliari decided they are willing to let him go on loan, as the ‘excellent relationship between the two club could facilitate the negotiation’.

In fact, the player’s agents are talking with the Turin side about this, but the negotiations ‘are stalled for questions of formula and figures’ for the time being.

We’ll have to wait and see if this is something Arsenal are prepared to do, but if they want the midfielder, they might have to seriously consider it to avoid missing out on another player, as well as hope that Juventus find an agreement for Nandez, as he would be the replacement they need.
