Arsenal are ‘still active’ in the chase for Lyon star Houssem Aouar, according to Le10 Sport.
The 22-year-old was repeatedly linked with a move to the Emirates last summer, and still continues to be associated with them.
He ended up staying with the Ligue 1 side last season, yet the situation could soon change, which is why the French club are ‘preparing for all eventualities’.
If there’s an offer for the midfielder, Lyon will ‘take a closer look at the proposal and will not oppose the transfer’ this summer, as there’s an agreement between the player and his club.
Atlético Madrid recently ‘came to get information’ on salary and the transfer fee from the France international and his employer respectively. The good relationship between the two clubs could help in the operation, but Lyon haven’t received an offer for Aouar.
The Gunners are still in the picture to sign the Frenchman, but they have ‘shown more activity’ to take Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga in recent weeks.
Le10 state Aouar is ‘clearly an option’ for Arsenal, although they haven’t made an offer yet to secure his signature.
