So far, this season, few things have gone wrong for Inter since they appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager.

They sit top of the league on goal difference, most of their transfers have been a success, and the general mood at the club is a good one, yet there is one fear, and that’s potentially losing Lautaro Martínez.

The Argentine is one of the club’s prized assets, who know full well the talent they have at their disposal, and with clubs like Barcelona and Manchester City circling, he could be swayed to leave Milan, but Inter, planning ahead, have a contingency plan in the form of Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

That’s what Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Friday, claiming the Gabon international ‘will leave’ the Emirates next summer.

The player’s contract expires in 2021, and it’s said Arsenal value him at around €70m, but that is ‘destined to fall’.

Inter were already aware of the situation last summer, when they were struggling to get a deal for Romelu Lukaku over the lone, and it’s made very clear this is an avenue that ‘should be taken seriously’.

Since Alexis Sánchez is expected to return to Manchester United, there will be some money freed up in the wages department.

However, it’s important to point out this move would only be made if Lautaro Martínez were sold, so we’d say Arsenal fans can relax a bit, but since Gazzetta seem adamant Aubameyang will be leaving the club in the summer either way, there might still be some stress to deal with either way.
