AS Roma are now finalising their deal to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal, according to the latest reports from Italy.
Among the many sources confirming the deal, there’s now Gianluca Di Marzio claiming the clubs will be exchanging documents for the transfer tonight, as the 24-year-old is set for his medical tomorrow.
Despite the many rumours regarding the move’s formula, it’s now said Maitland-Nile is signing on a ‘dry’ loan, with no option of a permanent move.
Roma are set to pay Arsenal €500k for the deal, with another possible €500k in bonuses.
For the past few days, there’s been several stories saying Arsenal and Roma were having difficulty reaching an agreement regarding the Italian side’s option to buy.
It was said the Giallorossi only wanted to pay €10m for a permanent move, while the Gunners first demanded €20m and then dropped the price to €15m.
Now it seems the clubs never reached a deal, and the chance of a purchase should only be discussed at the end of the loan spell.
