Even though the Portuguese media does believe that Fulham are interested in signing Cedric Soares from Arsenal, there’s no such confidence that the negotiations are advanced.

Following reports from the English press claiming the talks for the move are in stand by due to the player’s salary requests, outlet A Bola comes up to dismiss the news.

They claim that according to a source close to the Arsenal player, there’s no offer from Fulham yet.

The outlet does back up claims that Whites’ manager Marco Silva wants to bring the fullback to London, but there aren’t any negotiations going on for now.

A Bola adds that Arsenal ‘are available’ to talk about Soares’ departure for the club, though, and that’s a decent green light for Fulham to attempt his arrival.

This season, the fullback has only made four appearances for the Gunners, with only 120 minutes played.

Therefore, despite him having a contract running until 2024, there’s no big reason for Mikel Arteta to try to hold him in the squad.

The Portuguese media has been confirming Fulham’s interest in the signing for a while, especially by knowing that Silva and Soares had previously worked together at Sporting.
