On April 6th, we carried a report from Serbian newspaper Blic, who stated that Arsenal have ‘renewed their interest’ in Real Madrid’s Luka Jović.
It was also explained that Mikel Arteta is convinced the striker could be his side’s ‘new goal machine’ next season, if the Gunners end up signing him in the summer.
Arsenal are not the only club keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who failed to shine since he joined the La Liga side from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019. Bayern Munich are named as one the Serbia international’s suitors, although that may be a little optimistic.
Bayern have a risk of losing Robert Lewandowski after this season as Barcelona are keen to secure his services. Although their leaders have publicly stated they are not letting their star leave, the Bavarian club are looking at strikers who could replace the Pole.
Arsenal are in the mix as the report explains the north London clubs are one of the sides who remain ‘attentive to his situation’ with Los Blancos. Inter Milan and AC Milan are also tagged, but Sport explain the player would prefer a return to Germany.
The claims about wanting a Bundesliga club originated in the German media, so should be taken with that in mind. Previous reports in Spain have made it clear Real Madrid would be willing to listen to any sort of deal for Jovic, so a loan or bargain permanent transfer is a possibility for Arsenal.
