There has been a lot of talk about Arsenal wanting to buy a new midfielder of late, with players such as Sergej Milinković-Savić often linked with a move to the Emirates.
However, the 28-year-old doesn’t really fit with the younger squad Mikel Arteta is trying to put together, but there is one man in Serie A who does, and already knows the Gunners really well: Ismaël Bennacer.
Arsenal are one of the teams looking at the AC Milan star, according to Compétition in Algeria, and it’s actually a bit more than that.
However, this isn’t something the 25-year-old or his agent are thinking about just yet, as Enzo Raiola has told teams they will deal with all this later.
That’s because Bennacer is currently focused on the end of season run-in, which includes a Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.
This means Arsenal will have to wait to make their move, but them targeting a player who is young and knows the Emirates makes a lot of sense.
