Regardless of where he goes these days, David Ospina always seems unable to find himself a regular starting role unless he puts on a Colombia shirt.

Now on loan at Napoli for the rest of the season where he will provide competition to Alex Meret and Orestis Karnezis under Carlo Ancelotti’s orders, the Arsenal loanee could be set to make his debut for his new side this weekend.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the battle is between himself and the Greek shot stopper, as the young Italian is still recovering from an arm injury sustained in preseason.

The Italian newspaper state Ancelotti will not reveal who he will pick until Saturday, when his side are set to face Milan in Serie A in their second game of the season following the 2-1 win against Lazio at the weekend.

Karnezis started that game, but Corriere believe the ‘door is ajar’ for the Arsenal man to take over at the weekend should he prove himself before then.

Ospina left the Emirates this summer after Unai Emery made it clear he wasn’t counting on him this season, signing Bernd Leno from Leverkusen and keeping Petr Cech at the club.
