Earlier this week, we covered claims made in Italy that Arsenal have resumed talks with Juventus to sign Arthur Melo.

The Gunners wanted the midfielder in January, but were unable to take him away from the Serie A side.

Two days ago, La Repubblica reported the negotiations are taking place between Arsenal and the Old Lady over a potential transfer of the 25-year-old. No further details of the negotiations were provided.

Arsenal are ‘interested’ in signing the Brazil international, but it is unlikely they will buy him outright from the Turin club this summer. That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who explain Juve are at least hoping to offload him on a loan deal, with an obligation to buy.

This seems like what Mikel Arteta’s side and Juventus are thinking for Arthur, according to a latest report from La Repubblica, relayed by Tutto Juve.

The north London club would look to take the player on loan which will include a purchase obligation for 2023. This possibility would be good for the Italian club as they can get rid of Arthur, who is not included in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for next season.
