Arsenal took Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion in January and were keen on signing Moisés Caicedo in the same window. They tabled multiple bids for the Ecuadorian, which were rejected by the Seagulls.

The Gunners are expected to return to raid the Seagulls, this time for Caicedo’s club teammate, Alexis Mac Allister.

That’s according to TyC Sports journalist César Luis Merlo, who states Arsenal have ‘specific interest in signing’ the Brighton star.

Apart from Mikel Arteta’s side, Manchester United and Liverpool are also in the picture to sign the midfielder in the summer.

César Luis Merlo adds two out of the three clubs are ‘already negotiating’ with Roberto De Zerbi’s side for the Argentina international. He doesn’t make it clear if Arsenal are one of them, but there’s a good chance.

Mac Allister’s father and agent have been in England, monitoring the situation.

Earlier this year, the World Cup winner’s father, Carlos, admitted that Alexis’ plan is to leave Brighton after this season.

Arsenal are expected to be in the mix as they have shown ‘specific interest’ in securing the South American’s services in the next window.

Alexis has managed 10 goals and two assists from 28 matches in all competitions this season for Brighton.
