Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira is now a target for Marseille, according to reports from France.

Le10Sport writes that the Ligue 1 side are looking for some ‘new blood’ for the second half of the season, and the 23-year-old is an option they have on the table.

The main reason Vieira could be available is the short playing time he’s been having at Arsenal. This season, he’s only been on the pitch for 507 minutes, which have come over 14 appearances.

The report makes it very clear that Marseille rely on the ‘good relationship’ that Pablo Longoria has with the Gunners board, with the London side being called a ‘friendly’ club to negotiate with.

It’s recalled that the French club previously signed the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Willian Saliba and Nuno Tavares from Arsenal. They’d like to do the same type of loan operation to get Fabio Vieira.

There seems to be no big hope of a permanent deal, as they only point out the Portuguese player could get ‘back on track’ in Ligue 1 and then ‘return stronger’ in the Premier League.
