According to various claims in the Spanish sport media on Wednesday, Real Madrid are now set against the departure of Martin Odegaard this summer.

The Norwegian had again been heavily linked to Arsenal in recent weeks, with it thought a return to the Gunners could be completed on a loan or permanent deal.

However, Toni Kroos picking up an injury has seen Madrid look again at their options in midfield and it’s now thought Odegaard won’t be allowed out unless someone pays a huge fee for him.

Super Deporte put that fee at €50m, and it’s unlikely Arsenal would want to part with that amount of money to secure the player this summer. Therefore, there’s other options for the London club at Real Madrid.

As far as Super Deporte have it, Arsenal are ‘crazy’ about signing a creative midfielder, and that’s seen them consider Marco Asensio and Isco.

The latter is thought to be for sale this summer, with some claims he could be sold for as little as €25m, and the report states Madrid ‘will not hesitate’ to sell Isco should they receive a good offer, given he has less than a year left on his contract.
