Arsenal are one of the clubs ‘very interested’ in signing Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli.

That’s according to Italian journalist Luca Marchetti, who details it in his TuttoMercatoWeb column.

Juventus are keen to acquire the midfielder’s services this summer and have ‘officially’ started negotiations with their Italian counterpart. The first meeting between the two clubs already took place and another one could happen as early as next week.

During the talks, the Old Lady didn’t discuss figures, but they are aware a fee of ‘at least €40m’ is needed for Sassuolo.

The Italian club have set that figure because their general manager, Giovanni Carnevali, is aware other clubs are ‘very interested’ in the 23-year-old, like ‘Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund above all’.

Despite the Gunners and the Bundesliga side being in the picture to take Locatelli, the Turin club are ‘serious’ about him and have ‘collected Sassuolo’s willingness to negotiate’.

Juve now need to find a formula to overcome Arsenal and BVB interest to sign Locatelli. The details of the formula are much likelier to be addressed in the upcoming meetings between the two Serie A sides.
