Crystal Palace are yet to make contact over a potential move for Rapid Vienna’s Matthias Seidl, but certainly know all about the player thanks to coach Ronald Brunmayr.

That’s according to his agent Philipp Mirtl, who insists that there has been no contact as yet despite Crystal Palace and other English sides are keen.

Salzburger Nachrichten cover the youngster today and the perceived growing interest in him, with reports having indicated that Crystal Palace are one of several sides looking at the 23-year-old.

They explain that he’s ‘impressed week after week’ for Rapid Vienna this season and that has drawn interest from clubs all over the world.

With a tally of five goals and four assists so far, the youngster has a great chance of being in Austria’s squad for Euro 2024 and the belief is that interest in him is growing.

Crystal Palace are one of those in the mix according to reports in the UK, with the presence of Austria coach Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park only helping to fuel the idea that they could be interested.

They’re yet to be in touch about a move, though, at least according to his agent, who has however hinted there is one connection which could prove useful if they do.

“There are always inquiries. But Matthias is very clear and is only focused on the current season,” Mirtl told the newspaper.

“No club from Great Britain has contacted me yet. But it is clear to me that Matthias’ strong achievements will also be noticed outside of Austria. There have already been inquiries from Germany and Italy.

“Ronald Brunmayr brought Matthias to Blau-Weiß Linz and is now in the coaching team at Crystal Palace. So, he knows my protégé’s abilities.”
