Milliyet’s Besiktas journalist Serdar Saridag has spoken to Sporx’s Futbol Masasi about the latest developments with the Turkish champions.
Saridag was asked about the future of Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, after being linked with Everton in recent weeks.
The Turkish journalist said: “Today, I spoke with someone from inside the club. He told me, ‘Yes, Oguzhan could leave at the end of the season’.”
Last week we covered reports from the Turkish media that Everton are in talks with Ozyakup’s agent Kees Vos with regards to signing the central midfielder in the summer.
It was claimed discussions are progressing and that the player could be nearing a move to Goodison Park. Vos also confirmed Everton were showing an interest in his client.
Ozyakup will be a free agent in the summer, and despite claims this week he’s close to extending his contract with Beskitas, it seems there isn’t an agreement yet.
The Besiktas captain is reported to be keen for a return to England after coming through the Arsenal youth system.
