Andreas Christensen isn’t having a very good season with Chelsea.

It’s apparent that Maurizio Sarri isn’t a fan and therefore the defender has been given a grand total of 0 Premier League minutes since the Italian arrived at Stamford Bridge.

He has picked up three matches, in the League Cup and Europa League, but those have seemed to be very much sympathy appearances rather than giving the defender a real chance of forcing his way into the main side.

Unless something drastic changes, the Dane will need to see a plague on Chelsea defenders before he returns to serious contention. For the past few matches he hasn’t even made the bench.

It’s a big difference to last season, when Christensen started 23 Premier League games under Antonio Conte.

Given all of this it’s no surprise his agent is talking up an exit.

Speaking to Denmark’s TV3 and quoted by BT.DK, Steen Christensen is quoted as saying: “I am convinced that we will try to move Andreas in the winter.

“He is 22 years old and has played three seasons. He has played 80 matches in the Bundesliga and over 40 matches for Chelsea. So we cannot just say that now we save Andreas away for a whole season on the bench.

“If he is to continue his development, we have to say he is going to play. Of course we have to look at the situation.

“Germany is very well matched with the style of play, and Spain also. So that could be one of the two countries we’re going to go if it happens. But Andreas is not a cheap gentleman, and there are probably not many clubs that can afford to buy him.”

The 22 year old has a contract lasting until June 2022, having only extended with Chelsea in January.
